  • Goodbye

In case you were wondering why I have not been updating for more than a month.

I will now 'officially' bid farewell to this place. I'll be moving on to a bigger 'personal project,' which will be announced to you personally (leave me something on which I can contact you, either MSN/email/phone/whatever-not). You may call it 'starting from scratch' or whatever, but yeah,  am moving on. It's almost 3 years since the birth of this site, and I felt that it's time to move on. Thanks for the visits, especially from the ones who were.. faithful.. to visit despite my lack of updates (especially recently) and all that. To you guys, thanks a lot for dropping by ya.

Anyway, for the sake of posting, I'll post my final post here. The next time you hear from me and my new site would be when I'm overseas.

Yeap. Next year, I will be moving on to a new place, a new culture, and a new way of living... all by myself. (Don't worry, it'll be only for a year)

And that will be how I want the new site to be like. Despite the overwhelming odds, I still set my sights on the journey to the new place. For your information anyway.. I'm due to attend my degree program in Swinburne, Australia. My problem is: Money.

I did a few calculations, and I discovered that I would spend almost RM100,000 to study there for a year.

Right. So I figure out some solutions, namely:

    Scholarship
    Bursary
    Sponsorship
    Work

The first three should just about cover the fees, while working in Australia would cover my living expenses. God willing, I will be in Australia at this time next year.

So, till then... The next time you see a site by me, it will be a very different theme and feel altogether.

  • Preyed Upon

The Tigers were preyed upon by the Great Danes..

It was a stark contrast to the performance during the quarter-finals when we played pretty well. That Friday, I watched with high hopes, but it was a disappointing loss. Nevertheless, we went down fighting (but I did not think Hafiz fought as hard as all the other players) and I should be proud of that achievement.

But that means one thing: We have to really, really step up our game.

And just now, I had a one-to-one Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle-Earth II match, which by the way, is a strategy game worth playing even for non LOTR fans. I lost to Wee Zcent (Chee Meng took over when I launched the attack) flat. His wizard converted all my Dunedain Rangers and caused my Rohirrim to fall like dead flies as well. Since I realised that two-thirds of my army were wiped out just like that even without my army stepping foot into his base, I surrendered the fight. You know the saying; "two heads are better than one."

It's definitely the case. And another lesson: Do not simply pick fights with Dwarves. Those hardy people have some really kickass siege weapons.

I have an excuse though, my PC cannot support the requirements of the game, which results in me having only 3 days worth of playing experience, while Chee Meng and Wee Zcent has had the game on their PCs for four weeks or so, and since both are on holidays, they play literally all the time.

Looks like my mastery of the game would take a LOT more longer than I did with Battle for Middle Earth I. I have to figure a way out to play the game during convenient times, so that I would be able to master the game, and the three of us would form a clan to play online. A Men-Elf-Dwarf alliance. Which would be pretty well balanced out, because Dwarves are naturally defensive, while Elves would be perfect for long range sneak attacks, and Men have the luxury of making tonnes of money quickly, not to mention having the pleasure of commanding the legendary Rohirrim (HAHAH!!).

Would stop blabbering about the game. Heh.

    Till then~!

  • 2 More to Win!

We're in the semi-finals of the Thomas Cup!

I stayed up to check the news on Malaysia's campaign and yeah, I soon found that Malaysia had a scare before Hafiz Hashim became the hero of the day by delivering the winning point for Malaysia to beat South Korea 3-2.

However, Wong Choon Han sustained a ruptured Achillies tendon, which is going to rule him out of the rest of the campaign, and it also signals a quick retirement from badminton for him. News on the replacement for Choon Han is still not out yet, so we'll be waiting to see how the strategy is going to be like when we face Denmark in the semi-finals..

Just 2 more matches and the crownless will be king again!

    Till then~!

  • Let's Bring It Back!

As I'm blogging this, Malaysia is facing South Korea in the Thomas Cup knockout stages. And because I have been following Malaysia's progress in the badminton scene since I was young, I still believe that Malaysia has the potential to win it again. This is the only sport that Malaysia has been showing its dominance (well, sort of) through being one of the three countries that has ever lifted the Cup in it's history.

And the problem I'm facing is, that the match is not being telecasted at all!

Oh well.. I may not ba able to watch the match, but my support still goes to the badminton team, and with the hopes that Malaysia will bring the Cup back after 14 years of the title drought.

If the final is going to be telecasted (which I'm pretty sure would be if Malaysia reached the final), I'm sure to watch it, even if it is going to be late at night. Oh wait. It wouldn't be late at night since Japan is an hour ahead.

Well, Malaysia, don't disappoint our hopes yeah? We're waiting expectantly for the Cup to return~!

    Till then~!

    PS: Birthday in 12 days!

  • Old Geezers

My Cantonese lessons are picking up pretty well.

Or maybe too well, in a way. When it comes to foul words. What happened was, I was having my lunch break during Mr. Kid's class, and I was sitting at a table next to some old geezers who were talking pretty loudly. And what irritated me was that they just HAD to say the 'f-' word at every sentence..! That isn't the only bad word that they said throughout that time either.

By the time I left, I heard enough to know how NOT to say 'crab' in Cantonese. (NOTE: Saying the Cantonese word for 'crab' with the wrong intonation is going to make you sound bad. REALLY bad. You would wound up saying something about private parts instead of the seafood.)

    Anyway...

I once heard that there is such a thing as 'knowing too much.' How true for this case. I heard them talking and shouting those bad words that I now know too much about these bad words... What do you think?

    Till then~!

BTW... My birthday is in 13 days!
